Intersections of Academics and Art

Housed in a former church in the gothic-revival style, the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery hosts five to six exhibitions a year, with loans from major national and regional art museums, galleries, and collectors. Exhibitions are made possible by The Friends of the Gallery, the Gallery’s membership group, as well as other generous sponsors.

 

Gallery Semester Hours

  • Wednesday: 5–8 p.m.
  • Thursday–Friday: 1–4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday–Sunday: 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • By appointment for tour groups. (Please contact the Gallery at 717-867-6445 or [email protected] to arrange a private Gallery talk for your school or organization. Admission is free.)

Paper Trails: Exploring Artists & Techniques in Printmaking

Printmaking is a dynamic and versatile process of making multiple copies of an image from a single template. Historically, artists have used various techniques—from woodcut, etching, and engraving to lithography and screen printing—to achieve this end. Through such reproductive processes, the creation of multiple images allowed more people to own and access works of art. Modern and contemporary artists have also used prints to push beyond traditional forms and content. Join us for a rich exploration of this subject, drawn from the LVC Fine Art Collection and including recent work by students in the Creative Arts program!
